The Columbus Zoo in Ohio would become a "mega zoo" like San Diego or Bronx if it had a South America area.
I would add a South American area called Expedition Amazon.
Expedition Amazon would start with Cats of the Deep Jungle, featuring jaguars and ocelots. The Amazon Aviary would be next, in a small building with Toco toucan, king vulture, green aracari, harpy eagle, and owls. Reptiles and amphibians would be displayed in the Amazon Herpetarium, in the same building as the aviary. Baird's tapirs/anteater/capybara would each have their own exhibit at the Amazon's Edge. There would be a gift shop/restaurant plaza at the exit.
 
Monkeys in the Columbus Zoo

I would also add squirrel monkeys, marmosets/tamarins, and white-faced saki in the same building as the herpetarium. The Columbus Zoo has 3 out of 4 species of great ape in the African Forest and Southeast Asia areas, as well as mandrills in African Forest, and vervet monkeys at the new Heart of Africa.
