The Pickersgill reed frog was discribed 1982 ( original discription see : https://journals.co.za/docserver/fu...est&checksum=B9E2C29782FCF425F7A20823B0C3C324 and is now Critically Endangered.
To save the species an ex-situ programm was started already in 2012 and 30 frogs were brought into captivity and soon the first breeding-results were archieved.
Little other information could be found about more recent development of this project other than this somewhat older info :
