Controversial restoration of wild bison herds to Montana

I dont think only the cattle industry would be against it, farmers would crops would not like it either.

I used to work on a ranch right next door to the Wolf Point Indian Reservation. One of the properties was across the river from Poplar mentioned in this article.

We had neighbours farming Bison when I was there and the occasional escaped Bison would join cattle and have to be shot, although not on the place I worked on. If they were free roaming across privately owned land they would do a lot of damage to fences and if they had diseases they would spread them.

I think it is great if they can be introduced to public land and Indian Reservations, but don't think they could coexist with farming on private land like Antelope and deer. A herd of Bison would do a lot of damage to crops and fences as they passed through.
