"Coraciiformes" in North America

Lumped the now split Bucerotiformes and Coraciiformes together since they fit well in one thread, so why not. Overall this is a bit of a sad one, many species on the brink of disappearing altogether from North America. Cutoff date was extended a bit due to less information readily available from last year, however given many species involved here are very long-lived I don't think it will make too much difference. Cutoff date was May 2018.

Important Notes

Red-billed Hornbill
- Retained as one species. Yes, I know they're split; however the species complex is not well determined for the North American population.

Yellow-billed Hornbills - I'm not sure how accurate to species the listings are, I've listed them according to how the zoo or photo labelled them.

Motmot - Again retained as one; I believe most are thought to be Amazonian Motmot.

If anyone has updated information re any of the three populations I'll be more than happy to update accordingly.

Columbus keeps Southern Ground Hornbill. Wildwood Wildlife Park keeps Laughing Kookaburra and Blue-bellied Roller. Minnesota keeps Blue-bellied Roller.

Sedgwick County Zoo has wrinkled hornbill ad does not have green woodhoopoe or blue-bellied roller any longer

The SDZ Safari Park keeps a couple Southern Ground Hornbill out on exhibit where the Colobus monkeys used to be out at. Seen them earlier this month during my visit :)

Wrinkled Hornbill (10-11 holders) is considerbly more common. Following should be added.

Albuquerque
Baton Rouge
Brevard
Peoria
Jacksonville
Miami
Moody Gardens
Oklahoma City
Phoenix
San Diego Zoo Safari Park
Sedgwick County
Point Defiance

Great Indian Hornbill sadly seems to be at a dead-end in NA. There is less than 20 of these birds remaning (about a handful of them are females) and a significant number are over 15 years old. Been very little succesful breeding in the past 20 years. There seems to be little interest in reversing this situation and sending un-paired males to EAZA collections have been discussed.

Stone keeps rhino hornbill, southwick’s keeps laughing kookaburra, animal adventures keeps laughing kookaburra, gulf breeze keeps laughing kookaburra,

Brookfield and Lincoln Park both keep Guam Kingfisher (and isn't usually split as its own species nowadays?).

Yes, "Micronesian Kingfisher" is split into three species. I listed as Micronesian since both names are used fairly readily; I swapped Micronesian into the parentheses on the master list and it will appear that way next update.

Realy shocked about the difference between European zoos and North American zoos !
No Lilac-breasted rollers at all in American collections ??? In Europe the it is the most commonly kept roller-species ( at 41 collections ) closely followed by European roller ( 40 collections ) and Blue-bellied roller ( 39 collections ).
Was also shocked by the number of Blue-winged kookaburra-keepers in America ( only 2 ! ) against 46 in Europe !
