This was my once a year visit to what I would call my favourite Birds of Prey Collection but saying this it’s starting to look its age now.

Some of the aviaries are a little old now to say the least and could do with a refurb or a complete make over, these include all the Owl aviaries and a few of the other aviaries.

Did notice that they now have Red Tailed Hawk and Brahminy Kites in the collection, beautiful looking birds but unfortunately they are in a couple of the older aviaries.

Sad news the Pgymy Owl sadly passed away with old age, they now have an American Kestrel in the small exhibit that used to hold the Pygmy Owl.

The new Red Kite aviary at the bottom of the collection now holds a pair of White backed vultures and an African hooded vulture this aviary looks about the right size for these birds.

They now have Black kite, Yellow billed kite & Red kite in the same aviary which is great as you can see the differences between the three species at close quarters.

Secretary birds now sitting on a nest.
