Crested Ibis

I’ve seen photos of crested ibis at several Chinese zoos and safari parks. How common is this bird in Chinese collections, and is there a stud book? I’d like to see it someday, as I missed seeing it in Japan.

Beijing Zoo kept 1 bird in 1981 and set out to catch a group of wild birds in 1985. First reproduction at the zoo occurred in 1992.

It would seem reasonable to expect more zoos in PR China now exhibit and perhaps breed the species. Chimelong-Bird Park - in a thread from 2019 - was rumoured to have crested ibis, but not sure and no one has confirmed this rumour so far.

The crested ibis are bred well in captivity and several reintroduction programs are undergoing; Beijing Zoo, Shanghai Wild Animal Park and Chimelong all have this species.
