Deer of the World, Ecology, Conservation and Management

Just received a copy of this book and highly recommended it to anyone who is interested in the subject. On almost 1000 pages with more than 400 illustrations it covers 53 species of Cervidae in detail. There is an up to date Taxonomy and the chapters Taxonomy of Brocket Deer (Mazama, Subulo, and Passalites) and Muntiacus rooseveltorum Clade (Muntiacus rooseveltorum, Muntiacus truongsonensis, Muntiacus putaoensis) deserve special mention.

The new species Peruvian Yungas Pudu is mentioned in the Northern Pudu chapter, but missing a separate description.

Definitely the best edition about Deer out there (bar the HMWII) and probably the best volume of the Mario Melletti's Fascinating Life Sciences books.

The other books from the author are:
Rhinos of the World Ecology, Conservation and Management
Tapirs of the World Ecology, Conservation and Management
Bears of the World Ecology, Conservation and Management
Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour of Wild Cattle Implications for Conservation
Ecology, Conservation and Management of Wild Pigs and Peccaries
