There are several Phacochoerus aethiopicus listed in US zoos in ISIS. Are any of these for real or are they just mis-clasifications of Phacochoerus africanus>?
 
All of the warthogs in North America (and I suspect in captivity worldwide) are P. africanus. The confusion is from the division of the two warthog species; previously, all warthogs were known as P. aethiopicus - now the majority are P. africanus, but it's still making its way through the system. (Yes, even San Diego's P. aethiopicus is an africanus!)
