Following the trend that's been going around is a Zoo infamous for it's plenty of phase-outs over the years, the Detroit Zoo in Michigan. Feel free to contribute with any other species Detroit may have phased out. I'll start with some examples.

Sichuan Takin
Lion-Tailed Macaque
Siamese Crocodile
Przewalski's Wild Horse
White-Handed Gibbon

It would be nice if the year of phaze-out would be noted, when known.

Also (not sure where all of these species were kept):
Drill (Great Apes)
King Brown Snake
Southern Pudu
African Painted Dog
Binturong
Bare-faced Currassow (Wildlife Interpretive Gallery)
Emu
Bush Dog (2021)
Gray Seal (2021)
Arctic Fox (2021)
Harbor Seal (2021)
African Lungfish
American Black Bear
Slender-snouted Crocodile
Gray-crowned Crane (2021)
Saddle-billed Stork (2021)

It would be cool if they brought some of these species back. It would allow for more variety.

When the Detroit Zoo had the Black ruffed lemur exhibit it was amazing. When they had a pair of twins born it was so cute seeing them

But when they replaced them all with the handful of ring tailed lemurs and kookaburras it was such a weird choice

Don’t even get me started on the Meerkat exhibit that’s basically a purgatory where the zoos animals go when they have no where else to put them.

The zoo prides it self on natural environments with wide open habitats but right now there’s hardly anything in them

I hope the new director will try and fill the exhibits with animals not seen much in the Midwest or let alone other zoos

I believe they also used to have red crowned cranes where the vulture exhibit is now next to the Bactrian camels
