There's currently an old leaflet for sale on e-bay from Blair Drummond which has an illustration of a Cheetah in front of Zebra & Eland.

Have they held Cheetah in the distant past or was this just "artistic license"?

I don't remember ever hearing that they did, I just searched the cheetah studbook and there are no listings for Blair Drummond or Stirling.

Thanks, there's nothing on Zootierliste either, it's looking like artistic license then unless someone suggests otherwise.......

I cannot state if Blair Drummond did have them, however as it was a Jimmy Chipperfield safari park it is highly probable that they did, I do remember them at one of his other safari parks, Lambton in the seventies, I suggest no to artistic license, I would have thought a safari park would have enough of the big stuff to put onto a leaflet without having to resort to putting on an animal that they did not, a lion or an elephant would perhaps look even more eye catching on a leaflet/poster .That is the only help I can give on this matter, if it was any help!

Yes they probably had cheetahs when they first opened .In anthony Smiths book animals on view says the park use to have cheetahs but these have been replaced with siberian tigers , hope this helps .

Got it, referring to Wildlife 74-6 page21, Scotland's African Safari Park, Stirlingshire, Look for giant anteaters, CHEETAHS, there is one photo on this page, a picture of cheetahs, although incorrectly labelled as leopards. That's that then, Blair Drummond did have cheetahs, confirmed, I knew I had a book stating it somewhere:)
