A new spotted hyena pair has recently arrived at DierenPark Amersfoort. They are male Bongo and female Grizz and arrived from Dierenpark ZiE-ZOO. Male Bongo had only recently moved there from Zoo Planckendael, where he was the breeding male.
Of the previous breeding pair at DierenPark Amersfoort, male Maverick died earlier this year of acute heart failure, only a few months after arriving at the zoo. The female, Binti, moved to another zoo before the arrival of the new pair.
