I have toyed around for a decent time the idea of using the 3D models I create for those who wish to outsource; and partially for this for some time now I have been creating a catalogue of ready made models should I ever wish to do so.

Here is a recent example of my work with mammal modelling.
Although the idea may seem irrelevant for the many thousands of animal pictures on the internet... but I will try to make it not seem as daft as it may sound.
For one thing, although photography has been going strong for many years, this does not negate illustration. Living animals can be difficult to work with in regards to a comprehensive illustrative work - sure you can go out and photograph the animal, but for some species, there is seasonal variation, breeding variation, geographical variation, which can be tricky to capture photographically and comprehensively for whatever reason. Think of how many species are represented largely by a single image on Wikipedia! 3D models, when made to maximum accuracy, do not present such a problem. No matter how obscure or difficult the species is to photograph in detail, the 3D modeller can create what works well to illustrate the real thing. The models are also easily positioned and can be seen from any angle. And this'd open a great new world for pedagogical material regarding extinct/'lost' animals!
The idea of mine then would be either the models themselves are licensed for a given time period; if they have the techincal know-how to operate Blender; or renders are what is asked for initially and provided. I think for zoological organisations it could work well - for sure it is easy to find a high-detailed stock photo of a giraffe or a lion to use... but not all fauna are so lucky; particularly obscure ones. I think in that regard a well-made 3D model could work well. Better than AI by any rate!
I was wondering what you thought of this idea? Would you like to see it become reality?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
