On April 5th 2022, the Peruvian authority of natural protected areas, SERNANP, FZS Peru, tour guides and operators, and others, launched a new app called MANU BIOSFERA. This app, the only one of its kind in Peru, is now the best source of information for visitors going to one of the most biodiverse areas in the world, Manu National Park and Biosphere Reserve in Peru.
The goal of the app is to increase sustainable tourism in the area and involve users in helping better manage tourism services. An increase in tourism helps the protected areas but also local communities, in part by providing them with a new customer base to whom they can sell their products.
