This is a great documentary about the ecology and biodiversity of Mahazat as-Sayd Protected Area in central Saudi Arabia and the conservation work done there. Mahazat as-Sayd is one of the few places where the Arabian oryx (Oryx leucoryx) has been reintroduced. Other species that have been successfully reintroduced there include the Arabian sand gazelle (Gazella marica) and Red-necked ostrich (Struthio camelus camelus), the latter which fills the ecological niche formerly filled by the Arabian ostrich (Struthio camelus syriacus) which unfortunately went extinct in 1966.
