From the OED-
Elaborare:develop or present (a theory, policy, or system) in further detail.
"the theory was proposed by Cope and elaborated by Osborn"
add more detail concerning what has already been said.
"he would not elaborate on his news"

So what theory or detail are you suggesting people add from a photo of whale sharks?

And what does your over punctuated headline involving dolphins have to do with anything?

This looks like childish click bait. Far better you raise a proper query in a normal manner instead of over exaggerating and not explaining yourself. It's annoying.

What is there to elaborate?

It seemed clear the question was regarding dolphins and whale sharks being kept together in the same tank, and they wanted more information on whether this was real and how it works. English is not the OP's first language.

That particular picture looks photo-shopped to me, but the aquarium does (or did) keep dolphins in the same tank as the whale sharks, as shown by the links provided by @MonkeyBat

I think it was fairly obvious what they meant, and I am sure you fully understood what additional information they were looking for. Don’t see why you chose to nitpick their post rather than either providing the information they sought after or simply not getting involved as you have nothing of value to add to the discussion.

When I first saw that image, I assumed it was photoshopped but the silhouette of a second dolphin in the background made me doubt that - seems like a lot of attention to detail for a photoshop. Either way, it is clearly true from what MonkeyBat provided that dolphins did live in that tank at some stage.

As impressive as it would be to see Whale Sharks and dolphins side-by-side, I think what surprises me most is the presence of smaller fish which would surely be ideal sized prey for a dolphin. Shame which there doesn’t seem to be much more information online than the two articles linked above, as I would be very curious to know if a dolphin has ever eaten a fish in the past in that tank; in a way would be surprised if they hadn’t!

Makes sense. I was just unclear of what they wanted.

I checked around and found a video of the dolphin harassing the whale shark like in the photo at 9 mins

Sorry for the vague title—I’m not the best at writing, and I was a bit shocked when I saw a whale shark and a dolphin together. I just wrote down the first thing that came to mind. To me, it seemed like an odd combination, and I was curious about what insights this community might have.

I usually keep my posts open-ended because when I come across something like this, I’m not sure what kind of information to expect.

I saw that this was part of an ecological study, but to be honest, that seems a bit strange. The only hypothesis they could really test is whether the whale shark would be bullied or if smaller fish would get eaten. Seems little risky with whale sharks being so exspensive.

I think they wanted to try and recreate the ocean around Kyushu. From my brief look around on YT, they seemed to have either removed or they both died by 2015.

No worries! I am sorry if I came off mean.
