Whilst reading the latest Dudley news, particularly about the new Orang facilities my mind travelled back to 1992(when I was doing the zoo animal management course),a keeper asked if I would like to see where the original chimpanzee house had been It was on the bear ravine viewing balcony directly above the bear dens.The bars of the small cage had been cut back flush to the wall.This cage was being used according to the 1937 and 1938 guide maps,but then the chimps were moved to much larger enclosure where the current small primate house is in 1939
