Encouraged to learn this zoo seems to have had a much needed renovation and extension. In particular, I look forward to learn what new (and the quality and quantity of) exhibits they have realised and the collection of native species they hold.
For starters: as far as native species is concerned: jaguars, pumas and yacare caiman are all significant.
BTW: I take the comments re hippos, tigers and lions being endangered in Uruguay as the bit of ifnormation that was lost in translation thing.
