An adorable new addition has added a splash of colour to Adelaide Zoo's Dusky Langur monkeys.

Zookeepers discovered the orange baby monkey, who has not yet been named, clinging tightly to mother Flier in a bid to escape the winter chill earlier this month.

Born orange at birth, the tangerine-coloured fluffballs fade to grey around the age of six months.

The Dusky Langurs are usually found in the warmer rainforests of Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand.

Zookeeper Mandy Smith said mum and bub were doing well, although older sister Nakal was still adjusting to sharing her mum's attention.

She said the sex of the new arrival wouldn't be known for at least a month.

"The baby is fitting in superbly with the rest of the family,'' she said.

"Normally there's a two year gap between births, however, this time around there's only a year and half between the baby and her older sister.

"Nakal's still suckling from mum so she's feeling a little left out at the moment.

"With potentially two mouths to feed, Flier is going to be working overtime to care for both so were making sure she gets extra food and some time out from the rest of the group.''

Thisis Fliers fourth baby. Are Jenga and the one born in 2008 still at the zoo?
