EcoParque Foz (formerly Dreams EcoPark) is the newest of the three zoos located in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. It was inaugurated in 2022 by Leandro Matutone with the aim of promoting more immersive experiences between visitors and animals. The park features a petting zoo, an immersive aviary, and an arena where shows with birds of prey and Crioulo horses take place. In addition to these three attractions, a fourth one, which will be the main topic of my next post, has recently opened.

One week ago, on January 11, the first walkthrough primate enclosure in South America was inaugurated: Floresta dos Primatas. Visitors can see the following species exhibited:

1. (Alouatta guariba) - Brown howler monkey
2. (Aotus azarae) - Azara's night monkey
3. (Chiropotes albonasus) - Red-nosed saki
4. (Chiropotes utahicki) Uta Hick's bearded saki*
5. (Lagothrix lagotricha) - Brown woolly monkey
6. (Phoenicopterus chilensis) - Chilean flamingo
7. (Ramphastos toco) - Toco toucan
8. (Mazama sp.) - Brocket deer

*There is a possibility the Uta Hick's bearded saki could be actually Chiropotes sagulatus.
*The staff in Foz do not know what species Lelê, the brocket deer in this exhibit, belongs to.
