Entrance Exhibits

eagles owls bears reindeers and wolves

And these are visible from outside the zoo? I remember them being along the front wall of the zoo, but don't think you could see them at all from the outside (maybe the top of the aviaries but nothing else). Is this a recent development?

No i was there April 2013 and it was like that only recent devolpment is the African exhibits by the lions combining to make one

If you are visiting a "new" zoo for the first time then absolutely the first exhibit is very important as to giving the first impression, whether that is good or bad. Of course if it is a zoo you are familiar with then it probably does not really matter so much.
Personally I like the zoos where you can see some animals either on the route to the entrance, such as paddock animals, on near the entrance or perimeter of the zoo, almost tempting you in. But still these are all important as first impressions.

Right seeing as you seem to be having a problem, grasping what we are after,WHATS THE NAME OF THE COLLECTION AS WE ARE NOT MINDER READERS?

Its fairly clear from the discussion on the previous page that longleat diego was discussing Madrid Zoo, in response to my question about his post. However quoting on his part would have made this much clearer.

It wasn't clear to me so I asked the question, like you say it doesn't take much to add the collection name or in some cases the species when people are on about a named animal at a collection, but so many people because they know what they are on about expect the rest of us to as well, and in this case I was in the dark!
