This is a thread centered around historical items related to Epcot's The Living Seas, along with its current incarnation The Seas With Nemo And Friends.
This fan documentary is a good place to start. It starts by showing us the origins of this pavilion from its conception in 1978 to its eventual opening in 1986, complete with maps. We then take a detailed tour of the exhibits, from the marine mammal research center to the Earth Systems module, using various home video footage. Finally we look at how the aquarium has changed over the decades.
A tour of the pavilion recorded in 1992, showing the pre-show, the introductory short film "The Seas", a ride on the transportation system, and a presentation by the audio-animatronic Jason Of The Deep used to teach visitors about deep-sea exploration.
Several educational shorts incorporating animation were played on loop in select displays throughout the building.
"An Animated Atlas of the World educated guests on the effect of weather on the ocean, as well as the geology of Earth's oceans."
Suited For The Sea was a brief cartoon history of diving technologies.
Better footage of the Jason Of The Deep film, this time lacking narration.
