I was there last year. I love this zoo! I think it's one of the most under-rated zoos in the nation! They do an excellent job of displaying a wide variety of animals for each of 4 continents (Africa, Australia, South America, and North America). Tiger Trek will have them adding Asia to the list. One especially interesting thing here is their "Children's Farms" exhibit, in which they have 3 distinct farms set up very realistically, with both buildings and animals representing an African farm, Asian farm, and North American farm. With their famous "Jungle" exhibit, they were the second zoo ever to open an indoor rain forest exhibit. It's over 30 years old, but still excellent.

When I was hired as a graphic artist for the zoo, I have to search on the map to see where that zoo is. The name of the zoo sounds smaller than it actually is. In term of animal collection, it is very impressive. Pretty soon, we will have the most diverse caecilian collection in the nation. Every year or two, there will be one major exhibit been built. Right after the tiger exhibit, the elephant exhibit will follow. On top of that, there is a talk of redo the whole entry the same year. We are constantly doing this or that. Very busy and I am very excited about the future of this zoo.
