F10 vs SAFE4

has anyone used these products before? I am currently usinf F10 and it has been fabulous but very costly. I am thinking of moving to SAFE4 but am uncertain if it is as affective as F10, and do not want to switch to a product without the same range of disinfecting properties.
Can anyone help me out with this one? Does SAFE4 kill as sterilise as well F10 does?
thanks

I'm not familiar with SAFE4, so unfortunately I can't help you with your comparison request. But I've been using F10 for some years with my snakes and I've never had any problems, it seems to be very effective. And I know many Australian reptile keepers who use it frequently. I did hear of someone who said it caused problems for their Death Adders, but I haven't been able to confirm that.

I know some bird people who, under an errneous impression of it's capabilities, put some F10 in the water for their cage birds (they thought it would kill bacteria in the lungs which, admittedly, it probably would). They never reported any deaths from it, although they may have been too embarrassed to tell us.

There should be some information/instructions on the side of the bottles that may give you an idea of how the two compare in efficacy.

Hope this helps.

I have found that most chemicals will cause problems for Death Adders.

I, also, have had no experience with SAFE4. If it is of any use to you it may help to know that the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service [AQIS] recommends F10 which we use with very satisfactory results. They don't mention SAFE4 at all.

I tried googling to see if there were any online comparisons, and almost all the sites discussing SAFE4 belonged to the SAFE4 company, whereas F10 seems to be routinely used by everyone
