This is a small private collection in Jeseníky mountains near Polish border - poor rural region from where young people escape, but at least local tourism starts to catch up. The owner is longtime parrot breeder.
It obtained zoo licence in 2019. It´s biggest attraction is tigers, puma, small primates and large tame parrots.
It´s open daily during main season from April to October (and closed during winter). The zoo has also it´s own small hotel, restaurant, playground and parking lot. It seems it´s growing nicely - they reached attendance of 52.000 in year 2022.
News from last months:
- they obtained female white-handed gibbon Megy from Zoo Dvorec and paired it with their male Vincent
- they built a new larger aviary for resident snow owls
- they received a pair of (Carpathian?) lynxes from Zoopark Olovnice.
- their golden-headed tamarins have twins, the same goes for ring-tailed lemurs
- a mixed pair of scarlett and green-winged macaws have twin female chicks (this is pretty negative in my view, a licensed zoo should not go into these gimmicks, huh)
