Favourite animals at Chester and top 5 you want them to get

London's males are castrated, they stopped breeding because there was doubt about subspecific identity, I think.

Chester Zoo are looking to get Pygmy Hippos in the future. :)
 
My favourite animal has got to be the aye-aye (not just at Chester but generally!) and I also like the tuatara, giant otters, sengi and babirusa

My wishlist is:
Pangolins (maybe some day although quite unlikely)
Maned wolves
Sifaka (possibly coquerel's)
Echidnas (not sure which species)
& Sloth bears

Actually, only one is left at Berlin so that means only 3 individuals are still in Europe... All elderly, quite inbred; and as stated before non-breeding (the ones at London being sterilized and the one at Berlin being well lonely). So, indeed, barring a new import from Asia; the European population is doomed.

Tapirs (as you can tell by my profile photo)
The Big Cats (Asiatic Lions, Sumatran Tigers & Jaguars)
Asian Elephants
Black Rhinos
Indian Rhinos
Grevy's Zebras
Rothschild's Giraffes
African Wild Dogs
Humboldt Penguins
Southern Cassowaries
Flamingos
Most of the Deer species (e.g. chevrotain, spotted deer, Indian muntjac, pudu, etc.)
Ring-Tailed Lemurs
Chimpanzees
Both Orangutan Species
African Wild Dogs
Giant Anteaters
Okapi
Anoa
Congo Buffalo
The Pig Species (Babirusa, Warthog, Red River Hog & Visayan Warty Pigs)
Meerkats & Dwarf Mongoose
and so many more I could name...

And the Top 5 Animals I'd want them to get are:
  • Western Lowland Gorillas - I know Chester already has plans to bring this species back sometime in the future, but I seriously love Gorillas and hope that they would have success in breeding them.
  • Both Hippopotamus Species - Seeing as Chester has only Elephants & Rhinos in their pachyderm section, I do feel like they are missing out on housing Hippopotamuses (Yes, I know they are difficult to keep due to their aggression but I would love to see both species be housed at Chester again in the future)
  • White-Lipped Peccaries - I know Dudley Zoo (the closest zoo near me) is the only zoo in the UK to currently keep this species, but I do think it would be nice to see another UK collection keeping this species. They would make a nice exhibit in the paddock at the cattle house which used to previously house the Malayan tapirs (Before they were moved to The Islands last year)
  • Takins - I know Chester probably won't be looking to keep any mountain goat species or anything similar, but I think these could do with a nice enclosure at Chester (Doesn't have to be steep or hilly, could just add some climbing rocks for them)
  • Kiwi - I know Paignton is currently home to the only Kiwi in the UK, but surely that doesn't mean Chester can't add them into one of their nocturnal exhibits, can it? :rolleyes:
