To me, I really like Edinburgh, Chester and Whipsnade. Whipsnade is big but Edinburgh is very hilly!:D Chester's setup is one of my favourite although they do have far too many species off-show IMO.

On the forum please put why you voted for the zoo you chose as I may visit there in the near future or if your favorite isn't on the poll please post it.Mine is Longleat as it is a jaw-dropping experience and is an enjoyable day out.

Is this the second division list? Where are Belfast, Blackpool, Bristol, Chester, Colchester, Cotswold, Edinburgh and Jersey? There are several more which deserve consideration too.

Alan

My top two are Welsh Mountain and Exmoor, but neither are on the list. Of the ones listed my favourite is Paignton - by a very long way.

There are no Northern Zoo's mentioned at all. Twycross is the most notherly.

My Favourites up north and north wales are Chester, Blackpool, South Lakes, Welsh Mountain.

Zoo that I have enjoyed visiting down south are Bristol, Newquay and Exmoor

I think probably the title should read - which zoo would you recommend i visit from this list? Since it seems that is the purpose.
The list lacks 3 of my top 5 : edinburgh,chester & colchester & probably another 2 or 3 of my top 10.
Probably amongst the most polular on here are chester, dudley, cotswold, edinburgh & highland wp non of which make the list.
Also theres a difference between favourite & best depending on specific interests.

I've voted for my local - Twycross, but some cracking zoos have been missed off.

Colchester, Chester and Cotswold to name but three

I voted for London, easily the best collection of reptiles in the country. The rest of it is pretty good also.

Cotswold Wildlife Park is always worth a visit.

Like a few others I will not be voting as so many collections that I rate far higher than many, you have listed have been missed off the poll, just for the record I would rate Chester,Colchester,Cotswold Wildlife Park,Belfast,Bristol,National Marine Aquarium,The Deep at Hull and Edinburgh,as all been far better than over 50% of the collections you have listed! The 2 Aquariums that I have named are certainly far better than the McDonalds Aquariums that you have listed!

Exactly what i was trying to say about specific interests! London has good reptile, invertebrate, aquarium, but i dont rate it that highly , whipsnade's better for me nowadays,& i'd vote for that out of those listed, but doesnt necessarily make it my favourite or the best!

My favourites' would have to be; Chester, Edinburgh (also including Highland), Bristol and Newquay!

Howletts and Port are always worth a visit as instead of just having one group of gorillas or a pair of lions or tigers, they have loads such as 6 breeding groups of Gorillas (3 currently breeding) around 18 black rhino at Port lympne and 3 at howletts they have had an uncountable number of tigers in the past but seem to have currently stopped breeding Bengals also have the largest herd of African Elephant in the world. Have bred around 30 black rhino and 132 western lowland gorillas to show success in just SOME of their breeding programmes, these 2 Parks are deffinately worth a visit.
