Happily fish species receive more and more attention, both in and ex situ.
I read often about special facilities, that keep research and breed local threatened species.
But I came across several issues
the first was that often little to no data was given where and how this is made
and second the terminus breeding appeared to be interpreted.
Sometimes it refered to the long term husbandry of wild caught fish, including natural reproduction withun the institutions tanks, and release of some specimen while a few were further kept to create first full cycle populations.
Other times animals were caught and milked, with only the eggs being kept. Somtimes wild caught specimens get raised but do not breed before they are shipped for consumption or pet trade.
These methods add either little to no benefit to their conservation or even further harm to the species survival.
Therefor I would like this thread to be a plattform where information on these projects can be posted and adressed.
I plan to add a list of species stated to be kept and bred with specification what form in hope some of you might know more about the species projects.
