Flamingo shuts runway at Manchester Airport

Do we think that some people on a plane had thought they'd slept through the flight to their exotic holiday :p

Definately looks like a lesser ZG, but where the hell did it come from:confused:

Far be it from me to cast aspersions, but there's a large breeding flock of Lessers not a million miles from Manchester airport, whose flamingos are not unknown to local gardens. :D

Thank you folks glad to know my Flamingo id is ok,and yes Maguari I think we both know where it came from, wonder if they are missing one!!

I'm loving the 'special bird scaring vehicle', I need me one of those for all the pheasants on the road near us :D

Are the flamingos at the place not a million miles away fully winged?

I wonder if the owner of the bird could be liable?

Every possibility they could be.

Houses around the airport are specifically asked not to put food out for birds and there are signs about not feeding birds etc, so if a local collection could not keep control of something that could potentially damage an aircraft thus putting safety at risk I reckon there is every chance stern words at least will be said.

I hope it remains a mystery and that flamingo wing clipping patrols are not called into local collections!!
