I don't want any but I'm intrigued by them. Are they diurnal or nocturnal and can they be kept in a secure aviary with say finches and doves as a replacement for quail?

They are crepuscular (i think thats the word) mine are active when they get hungry or decide to renovate, they clean all their bedding every morning and when i used to finish work at midnight, they would be cleaning the bedding aswell, it was amazing when one of my females was giving birth they all cleaned her and the babies and the leaves she was on, very very clean animals!(they really do), and shift sand from one end of the tank to the other.

I would love to try keeping them in an aviry, but they do need heat so you would need some kind of heated box for them to sleep in, they also love to climb and being rodents will eat baby finches or any ground roosting birds that would also get pestered. they would be a good replacment, probably better, but still need there fresh fruit and veg every night (i feed mine at 8:30)

Ah well, they would be too disturbing for the birds at night.
Interesting though
