Forest Animal Rescue is an 80-acre facility located in Silver Springs, Florida. Species at the facility include American black bear, generic tiger, white-faced capuchin, brown lemur, island flying fox, Egyptian fruit bat, and African spurred tortoise, among others.

On March 9th, the facility announced that a (1.0) serval named Kenya has passed away at age 19.

On April 2nd, the facility announced that its (1.0) cougar named Irma has passed away at age 20.

On August 22nd, the facility announced that they acquired a (1.0) serval named King after he was sold in captivity as a pet.

The facility also announced that they acquired (0.0.3) American black bears for rehabilitation after their mother got hit by a car in Louisiana.

*Misc News: In late June, the facility received "Top Rated Nonprofit" status for the 9th year in a row. On September 29th, the facility announced that after Hurricane Ian hit, only a few large trees were knocked down, and minor damage to the perimeter fence and to the large habitats, with no staff or animal injuries/deaths.
 
On May 27th, 2023, the sanctuary announced they transferred (1.1.1) American black bears named Cody, Elizabeth, and Oatmeal, as well as (0.1.2) generic tigers named Eva, Juanita, and Natasha to Keepers of the Wild in Arizona.

On June 5th, the sanctuary announced that the (0.0.3) American black bears (which were named Iris, June, and Kyle) that were rescued in August 2022 were released back into the wild.
