I may be wrong, I just got the info from the maps and my own knowledge. Add some if you know any.


Carnivora building(1950-1985)- Now Night Hunters, this featured lions, tigers and hyenas.

Cat House(1985-2011)-Now also Night Hunters, this building housed the largest collection of small cats, there were animals like lynxes, margays, leopards, and many more. The rotunda area in the building today, was a Small Mammal House that displayed weasels, foxes and squirrels.

Herbivore Building(1906-N/A)- Now the elephant house, this area showcased kangaroos, hippos, rhinos, elephants, and giraffes.

Vanishing Giants(2000-2008)- Now Elephant Reserve, okapis, giraffes and elephants were featured here.

Walk-through Flight Cage(1962-2006)- Now Lorikeet Landing, it featured birds from all over the world as guests could get right next to them.

Nocturnal House(1964-2011)- This building is closed, it featured creatures like aardvarks, owls, bats and more.

Ape House(1951-N/A)- Now the 4-D Theatre, also known as the Great Ape House, this building featured great apes like chimps, orangutans, gibbons and gorillas. The entrance sign can still be seen on the side of the building.

Big Cat Canyon(1975-1998)- Now Siegfried and Roy's White lions of Timbavati, this exhibit featured three white tigers.

Reptile House(1937-1951) Now Wings of the World, this building featured many snakes, turtles, and lizards.

Giant Panda exhibit(1988-6 weeks)- Now Dragons!, this building featured Chia-Chia, a giant panda for 6 weeks.

Elk Park and Virginia Deer Park(Maybe 1875-1941)-Now Wildlife Canyon, this area was two large yard for many elk and deer.

Khan's Komodo Dragon exhibit(1988-2005)- Now the Dragons! building, this featured Naga, the largest Komodo dragon in captivity in the Western Hemisphere, and was the second Komodo dragon put on display outside of Indonesia. From 2005 to 2007, a giant anteater, lion tamarins, a red-legged seriema, and other tropical birds were exhibited.

Deer Line(1942-1989)- Now Wildlife Canyon, this featured many hoofed animals like bison, red deer, and llamas.

Monkey House(1875-1951)- Now the Reptile House, this building featured primate species like mandrills and Suzie the world's first trained gorilla.

Cat Grottoes(1934-Early 90's)- Will soon be Cat Canyon, this area was the first bar-less exhibits at the zoo for African birds, lions and tigers. It was called Tiger Canyon from the mid-90's to 2011.

Aquarium(Early 1950's-1998)- Now Manatee Springs, this building consists of many tanks for tropical fish and sharks.

Bird Aviaries(1875-1952) Now part of Gorilla World, this consisted of 6 large cages that all but 5 were torn down. That one cage became the Passenger Pigeon Memorial in 1977. In 1953, they were converted into monkey cages.

Otter Basin(1875-2005) Now Wolf Woods, this was part of the Children's Zoo that featured river otters, foxes, skunks, and even a cheetah exhibit. Was known as Otter Creek from the mid-80's to 2005.
