G'day folks, I'm looking to compile a list of species previously held at Mogo Zoo. Through internet searches I've been able to find the following:
- Koala
- Little Penguin
- Syrian Brown Bear
- Jaguar
- Red-handed Tamarin
- Puma
- Kea
- Crab-eating Macaque
- Siberian Tiger (not sure I believe this one?!?)

Does anyone want to add to the list? I understand that the jag was the last one in Australia, as were the red-handed tamarins. But the decisions to move out of koalas, little penguins and Syrian brown bears are strange, I feel, as each one took from the zoo a significant, visitor-attracting exhibit.

In regards to the Siberian Tiger, It may of been the one they used to have at the Adelaide zoo before they went into the Sumatran species?

Correct, Mark. From Adelaide zoo.
It was the most magnificent big cat I have ever seen. Unfortunately it developed cancer of the jaw and had to be euthanised.

They used to have mulleurs gibbon. now also at cairns. friends with a (help)? white cheecked gibbon?

His name was Koltar from memeory and he weighed about 230kgs.He was taxidermed and lived in the zoo's entrance at one time.He was the largest tiger in Australia at the time.

Is he on display somewhere at the moment?

I could only assume the zoo still has him as besides the puma,he was their first 'big cat' and he was very special to the owners.
