It looks like genetically modified salmon may soon be coming to a kitchen (but hopefully not freely roaming through an ecosystem) near you.

Being introduced into the wild wouldn't be good for the enviroment.
But if it keeps the numbers of wild salmon being hunted down then it's ok with me!

While I certainly wouldn't want them roaming free and interbreeding with wild relatives (any more than I would tabby cats or Tamworths), there's an awful lot of scaremongering around GMOs. All domestic animals and plants are genetically-modified at the end of the day. We need to be careful, but not paranoid. I'm open-minded on the topic.

That said, I'm not a big fan of salmon. Probably give it a miss on those grounds.
