What will be happening with frankfurt zoo now that bonoboland is open. I know that a gibbon island is being built when I was there last year and I know they are building a new bear enclosure but what is happening with the old great ape house as that would be perfect for smaller primeates and some bird species. Saw the post about the clouded leopards going and have been to frankfurt zoo 4 times in 3 years and only seeing them twice, once on my second visit but it was only a glimpse of its fur and on my last visit when we were leaving it was out in the open (my girlfriend didnt know what was going on when i bounded up the stairs with my camera) it was an exhibit that it was never easy to see the occupants

They are still on it to build...

From my point of view that could take a little while (think a few years).

The house was broken down, 'cause it was so marode, it would had cost a lot to rescue that crapy house.

Someone said that the old monkey house is going too. Anyone know what will replace these two buildings.

The old ape house has been demolished and the space is used to build the outdoor enclosures for the great apes. I have no idea what will happen and when with the old monkey house. The next project for the zoo are new bear enclosures so I guess the remaining monkeys have to wait.
