Future wiki idea

Not sure if this is the right section to put it under, but I have an idea! There should be a Wiki that has a lists of all the zoos that have a certain animal, ie: if someone really wanted to see a spotted hyena, they could go on the website search "spotted hyena" and see a list and interactive map of all the zoos in the world that have a spotted hyena so they can go to the one closest to them.
It would be community edited similar to Wikipedia and people could post images of the animals at that Zoo as well as keep the wiki updated with which animals are on display.
And it would even feature which zoos have planned future exhibits for that animal. And possibly it could show which zoos have specific color morphs of animals, like melanistic Jaguars or white peacocks.
Let me know if you guys would be interested!

Animals would also be in a wiki section where people could see all of the represented species of carnivores, or antelopes, all in one place.

The closest thing we have is ZooInstitutes, and it's far from comprehensive. One man can only do so much. It isn't a bad site by any means, however.

I have a lot of wiki platform experience, and constructing a wiki for zoos on an existing platform wouldn't be difficult to start. I even have experience with the new maps platform that is being rolled out at FANDOM/Wikia which would be really useful for this. I can envision how such a wiki could look and feel as a final product.

The difficult question is how many users would put in effort to maintain and keep it up to date? We would definitely need users willing to cover both the United States and Europe, for example, and no doubt hundreds if not thousands of animal articles.

I would suggest if anything of this source was attempted that users would try to use reference tags and reference zoo lists, social media posts, books, photos, etc. as this would make it easier to weed out the FREQUENT situations where someone would try to add an animal to the wrong page or category based on incorrect info or wishful thinking.
