Please help me to help Galloway Wildlife Park stay open!

APPEAL - 26th July 2011 John Denerley says:
'With the current financial climate and with reduced ticket sales, we are feeling the 'pinch' as many other businesses are. We are appealing for any sponsorship, donations or help and any ideas that can assist in the on-going maintenance of the park.
The weekly animal feeding cost is £1,000 and the animal enclosure heating is £500 a week. On top of this we have payroll expenses to ensure the welfare of all our animals.

Any help will be most appreciated from fundraising ideas to company sponsorship - business web links can be added to our web site with your company logo.

Help spread the word and save Galloway Wildlife Park.'

You can donate from here: Galloway Wildlife Conservation Park |

or adopt from here: Galloway Wildlife Conservation Park |

Even if you give a few pounds, it all helps.

Please help and spread the word for Galloway Wildlife Park.

Thank You!

Hi Adrian 1963

Here's is a list of animals at the zoo according to their website: Galloway Wildlife Conservation Park |

its a great little zoo, I saw Maned Wolves,Dhole and Corsac Fox there for the first time. They have a female Red Panda. They have recently acquired the Amur Leopard Cat. The Bat Eared foxes were asleep when I visited and the Porcupine was climbing a tree, very gingerly lol

Id recommend a visit :) and its cheaper than similar sized collections.

I don't know why some people on this site, seem to have a very negative view of me. :(

If I like to support a wildlife park in trouble, then I don't see why other people should take offence. If they don't like the park, don't go.

I think we should let other people visit and make their own opinion.

I still think the park needs support. Please give generously!

Thank you! :)

I would do if I did not believe that giving to this place is a lost cause, very sorry that I do not hold this place in the same high regard as yourself, but that is my point of view on this place just as you have yours!!

Red Panda, can you tell me, what is the ownership structure for this place? If it is a for profit company then not only is asking for financial donations very unusual, but it's very questionable ethically and perhaps even legally (I say the latter without being familiar with British law, but certainly in Australia the ACCC would take a very dim view of a for-profit company soliciting 'donations' without making it very clear it was a profit-seeking venture).

I believe the Wildlife Park is privately owned and run by John and Kathryn Denerley with the help from their small team of dedicated volunteers. As a non profit making organisation, any money is injected back into the Wildlife Park to help with the animals upkeep, veterinary bills and maintenance of the enclosures.
