G'day all from Ara
I recently discovered this fantastic forum and was blown away by it!
Until then, I thought I was the only zoo tragic around, as most of my friends and family are not all that interested. How wrong I was!
It's great to know that there are other zoo nuts out there too, and I'm impressed by the inside info. some of you seem to have.
I call myself Ara because I am a great admirer of macaws ( genus Ara )
Like me, they make a lot of noise and are ready to bite anyone who offends them.
I regard myself as a bit of a zoo historian ( in a local way )as I have been visiting Taronga, Melbourne and Adelaide zoos regularly and often for the past 50 years and have recorded a lot of detail about them.In that time I've seen a lot of changes in them, both good and bad.
In retirement ( soon ) I intend to vist many more of the world's zoos, aquariums and animal parks.
