The prolonged period of being shut indoors because of Avian Flu worries does no appear to have affected the breeding of the Caribbean flamingos . A total of 18 pairs are nesting and the first 4 chicks hatched recently .

Highlights among the wild birds are 3 regular spoonbills . A Caspian tern has been seen recently , unfortunately I have not managed to see it .

Nice bit of news on the flamingos.

If a secure and secluded indoor may be offered and provided flamingos will readily start getting into the colony / breeding mode / mood.
