Australia Zoo giraffes coming soon

Is the first step in Australia Zoo's long-rumored "African Savanna" exhibit?

After quarantine at Dubbo, Forrest will be going to Australia Zoo (Ntombi will be staying at Dubbo).

Does no one have a problem with seperating these giraffe. Surely Forrest will be very lonely.Or does Australia Zoo have other Giraffe?

It would be likely that he just the first of many. I wouldn't be suprised if we soon hear that giraffes will be coming from Monarto for instance

I would have to agree Jay, Monarto have a huge breeding group

I hope Forrest settle in well when he arrives and I hope he doesnt miss Ntombi and his parents Rukiya and Zabulu too much! Im going to miss seeing him wandering round the Auckland Zoo pridelands, It looks so empty iwht only 2 girrafes in there now!:):o

I was at Australia Zoo last week. I spoke to a zoo worker who told me that in about 18 months they will have lions, cheetahs, rhinos and giraffes on display. The zoo already has cheetahs and rhinos off display. Don't know if they have any lions yet.
