Dengue is a scourge, but genetically modified mosquitoes sounds scary. What if they cause dengue to mutate into an airborne disease or cause some environmental disaster that we cannot even begin to fathom yet? A simple but effective way of getting rid of mosquitoes is to get rid of stagnant water where they breed. Cleaning up the neighbourhood helps a lot.
