Sad, but it seems like this is just one extremely small island population that was reduced largely by human intervention in order to form a more stable ex situ population. I feel like that's a net +ve for the species in the long run, given that its more sustainable habitat range in Assam and Bhutan is small and susceptible to fragmentation.

Yeah, I also feel like there's some confusion on the part of the writers on the overall range and status of the golden langur as a species, which is larger than this one island of 11 individuals.
