I am looking for information on the current gorilla troops at DAK. I believe there is a breeding troop and a bachelor troop. Does anyone know the name, sex and ages of the gorillas? I was told that one of the gorillas from the San Diego Zoo will be on a breeding loan. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

zooman explain this one to me - why does Cenzoo at Birmingham (who is going elsewhere owned by Denver Zoo but they keep 3 other males that belong to other zoos instead of him?)
 
There are two groups at Disney's Animal Kingdom. One is the family group (1.4), and the other is the bachelor troop (4.0).

Ages are in brackets for the following write up

The family troop consists of adult male "Gino" (33), adult females "Benga" (42) and "Kashata" (20), and Gino x Kashata's daughter "Lilly" (3). None of these gorillas came from/were born at/are owned by The San Diego Global.

The bachelor troop consists of "Augustus" (32), "Kejana" (22), "Zawadi" (22), and "M'bizi" (20). All four are males. None of these gorillas came from/were born at/are owned by The San Diego Global either.
 
Thank you for the information. The female gorilla from San Diego is Azizi (16) daughter of Memba and Alvila (the first gorilla born at the San Diego Zoo). I was introduced to the keeper from DAK on Monday and on Thursday I watched as they crated Azizi for travel. I assume she has arrived and is going through introductions. I will miss her and hope the troop accepts her. Oh, by the way, none of the keepers shared this information with me. I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
 
Can anyone confirm that the gorilla Azizi is on exhibit?
