Hello All,
I'm Teece. Animal lover (but then aren't we all?) Currently a student at zoo school. That is to say the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program at Moorpark College, in Moorpark California. The program keeps me busy pretty much 7 days a week, but I will try my best to pop on line here and keep up with any zoo news.
This week has been eventful, as we had to prepare our little zoo for evacuation (since we were dangerously close to one of the wildfires buring here in So Cal.) However, that fire has now been contained and dealt with and currently we are no longer in danger. Still, the event was most troublesome, causing a lot of angst and worry. I lost a fair amount of sleep, and have not yet fully recovered. Plus, it is only the beginning of fire season here, so I dread what the long hot months may bring.
When not at zoo school, I spend time volunteering in the Enrichment department of the nearby Los Angeles Zoo. LAZ is at the top of my wish list for finding employment after graduating from the program. However, I remain open to whatever wonderful opportunities may present themselves in the following 20 months.
When I do have a few moments away from zoos and exotic life in general, I spend them at home, where I live with my very dear Boyfriend, 7 cats, one bunny, one guinea pig and one overly-fed and very spoiled rat.
I haven't been the best keeping up with my blog, but when I have a chance, I do post updates on life in the program and the rest of the mayhem that I experience. If you're interested, please feel free to drop in: Catch, Neuter & Release
I hope that everyone is having a good October. Best wishes and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
