Hello, fellow Zoo Chat members. My name is André, a 20-something Portuguese whose stepfather started me on the path to becoming the animal enthusiast I am today. As far back as I can remember, my family home has teemed with animals of all sizes and shapes, from scorpions to bats and Vietnam pot-bellied pigs and peafowl, culminating in our current desire to convert a modest collection into an equally as modest (but nevertheless spectacular) family-run zoo in the coastal region of Alentejo. I came upon this website a few weeks back and have now decided to start posting, maybe starting with one of those engaging "Your dream zoo" threads where I can jot down my plans for a small zoo.
