Guldborgsund Zoo, which has existed at its current location since 1933 (though under different names), closes at the end of 2023. It's the only municipality-run zoo in Denmark, and the municipality has apparently prioritized it low enough that they believe closing the place will get them enough money for their 2024-2027 budget.

I guess that the amount of non-Danish Zoochatters who have visited the place can be counted on one hand (or zero hands), and living in the other end of the country, I've personally only been there once, but it'll probably be quite a loss for the local population.

If this the only municipality-run zoo, how are run/owned other Danish zoos?

Most of the large ones are selvejende institutioner, self-governing institutions, i.e. companies that own themselves (with Aalborg, Odense, Copenhagen and Givskud also getting some state grants). Most of the smaller ones are privately-owned, a few being run by foundations.

I am at this very moment in this Zoo and is very open. Did the plans change? Because it is after 2023

Yes, the plans were changed slightly, but it's still slated to close in its current form. From what I've heard in the news, the grounds have been put up for sale, so that anyone who's interested in running the place as some kind of attraction (whether a zoo, a regular town park, or something else entirely) can bid for it. They should have gotten the bids by now and will make an official announcement about the place's fate in summer.

But any employees there probably know more than me, so if you can find a zookeeper or administrative worker, you should try to ask.

Do you have a link to the auction? The staff knew less then you seemingly.
