Habituated Sousliks, Mlada Boleslav, Czechia (video)

European sousliks are endangered species in the Czech republic.

But one wild colony at outskirts of town Mladá Boleslav (yes, the same place Skoda cars are produced) has become a local attraction in recent years. Families with children got used to visit and feed the animals and sousliks got used to be hand-fed.

I think this could be a model for a nice zoo exhibit - low maintenance cost and highly popular.

This species would also be a very nice replacement for the different prairie-dog enclosures.
