That is good news VC though this colour form is only one version of Atelopus varius as the name suggests it comes in a range of colours. I wonder how all the other Atelopus species are doing.
They used to be quite common frog in the hobby in the 1980's 90's mainly in the USA I believe. Some were collected for the pharmaceutical industry which was interested in the skin toxins.
I sometimes think the doom mungers shout extinct to readily these days possibly to show how badly we are treating the planet, possibly for publicity.
Though for me as an amphibian fan, this is good news
