ANIMAL lovers can enjoy a bird's-eye view of orang-utans at Melbourne Zoo from this week.
An 8m-high viewing platform in the zoo's orang-utan sanctuary opens on Thursday.
It promises close encounters with the zoo's prized primates, some of whom were hanging out for all to see at a special preview yesterday.
The tours will run on Thursdays and Saturdays, led by orang-utan keepers.
