On January 7th, the zoo announced they are expanding their African spurred tortoise exhibit, which includes a new night house, waterfall, and move space.

On January 12th, the zoo announced they have acquired a (0.1) red-ruffed lemur named Ally.

On February 11th, the zoo released a 2020 annual report, which outlined some new things for the 2021 year. This includes the relocation of Parrot Island, as it was to make room for an expansion of the peccary exhibit. The zoo plans on not keeping collared peccary after their last one passes away, instead choosing to acquire Chacoan peccaries. The Backyard Habitat is also getting renovated with new educational signage, play structures, and pollinator-friendly gardens.

On April 20th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) blue-tongued skink named Raj has passed away. She was ~21 years old and passed away from age-related health issues.

On April 30th, the zoo announced that their (0.1) fossa named Roni developed glaucoma and had her eye surgically removed on April 28th.

On January 20th, the zoo announced that they have acquired (0.0.4) Narragansett turkeys named Nquit, Neesse, Nish, and Yoh, and are located in the barn area. They will be moved to the new chicken coop with the chickens soon.

On March 4th, the zoo announced that their (0.1) prehensile-tailed porcupine named Zoey has passed away due to cancer. She was 18 1/2 years old.

On March 16th, the zoo announced that their (1.0) capybara named Meenie passed away due to age-related issues. He was 12 years old. The zoo is planning on acquiring more capybara.

On April 14th, the zoo announced that their (0.1) fossa named Roni has passed away due to age-related issues. She was 20 years old. The zoo is planning on acquiring another fossa, but will make several renovations to the former fossa exhibit, such as rebuilding the night house, as well as the outer poles of the exhibit being replaced.

Can anyone explain their hours? The calendar on the website only shows August and September, but surely they are open more months? It seems they are closed Monday and Tuesday every week?
 
On October 13th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) fennec fox named Safer passed away due to mammary tumors that metastasized through other parts of her body. She was 10 years old.

The former javelina and “Parrot Island” exhibits have been overhauled into one single habitat. This was done to make way for four Chacoan peccaries, a new species for the Zoo. :)

The peccaries will live in the newly renovated Chacoan peccary habitat. The former collared peccary and Parrot Island habitats in the Zoo in the Hollow, the lower section of the park and zoo, were combined and renovated to create a space nearly twice as large as the original habitat that can safely and comfortably house more animals and allow for potential breeding in the future. While Happy Hollow will initially house a male-only cohort, the new habitat includes two animal shelters and three separate yards to allow for the possibility of breeding in the future.
