Tierpark Berlin:
Madagascar:
@SivatheriumGuy
@Philipine eagle - The monkey house has been renovated recently and is turning into a paradise for Madagascar lovers. With the new addition of one particular night lemur, it now has two of the rarest Lemurs in Europe. The indoor enclosures look very modern.
Species:
Aye-aye, Coquerel’s Sifaka
@Philipine eagle
@Gibbonsagainstgravity - The house also has another fantastic Madagascar enclosure.
Species:
Red-bellied Lemur, Collared Lemur, Red Ruffed Lemur, Radiated Tortoise, Giant Jumping Rat.
@Hvedekorn - The house is also home to a couple of smaller terrariums with relevant species.
Species:
Golden Mantella, Yellow-headed Day Gecko and Common Madagascar Fire-millipede.
@Philipine eagle - The Lemurs are spread out throughout the park. There is a fantastic forest walktrough enclosure next to this one where lemurs jump from branch to branch above you.
Species:
Mongoose Lemur, Black and White Ruffed Lemur, Ring-tailed Lemur, White-belted Black-and-white Ruffed Lemur, Ring-tailed Lemur.
Alfred Brehm Haus:
Basically the whole of this fantastic house is relevant to this category with it specializing southeast asia.
@Philipine eagle - First enclosure you see when you enter the house is a large terrarium for
King Cobra. They have enough hiding spaces, because I did not see it on my visit.
@Philipine eagle -
Bear Cuscus enclosure who have had offspring every year.
@Philipine eagle - Very nice enclosure with lots of vegetation home to the rare and elusive
Asian Golden Cat. Did not put the Clouded Leopard in, because it's the mainland variant.
@Philipine eagle - Another very rare cat species in the
Javan Leopard has a similar enclosure, perhaps a little on the small side, because the leopard is bigger in size.
@Philipine eagle - This fantastic walktrough is home
Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo and
Dusky Pademelon who have a lot of foliage and climbing frames (for the 1st one) in a large space.
@SivatheriumGuy
@Philipine eagle - A state of the art indoor enclosure paired up with a very average outdoor enclosure for
Sumatran Tigers who do produce quite a lot of cubs over the years.
@RonBurrgundy
@twilighter -These guys were fortunate enough to get the best of both worlds with an amazing indoor enclosure and a good outdoor as well with good climbing frames. Species:
Sun Bear, Binturong.
Reptile hall:
@Philipine eagle - An example of a few of the very good terrariums in the house containing a big amount of relevant species. Species:
Banded Mangrove Snake, Bavay Giant Gecko, Black Tree Monitor, Borneo Earless Monitor, Emerald Skink, Frilled Lizard, Indonesian Pit Viper,... (still 10 or so more species)
Inside Hall:
@Philipine eagle - Two spacious enclosures are home to
False Gharial, Malaysian Painted River Turtle, Asian Leaf Turtle.
@Philipine eagle - There are a couple of free-roamers in the hall as well such as
Indian Flying Fox (range into Sri Lanka
), Bali Myna, Asian Fairy-Bluebird, Mindanao Bleeding Heart Pigeon, Nicobar Pigeon, Palawan Peacock Pheasant, Sclater's Crowned Pigeon, White-rumped Shama, Balabac Chevrotain. There should also be a seperate aviary for an owl species, but the name is escaping me.
